El Yiyo: The New Legend of Flamenco
The stage welcomes a flamenco phenomenon: El Yiyo.
This week, our flamenco ensemble renews itself to offer you an experience full of nuances and overflowing talent.
There are shows you simply see, and shows you feel directly in your chest. What is going to happen from March 23 to 29 on the centennial stage of Tablao Flamenco 1911 undoubtedly belongs to the second category.
If you have never seen El Yiyo dance just a few feet away, you are missing one of the most electric forces of nature in our country. When he steps on stage, it is not just dance; it is a hurricane of pure passion that captures you from the very first moment.
But he is not alone. He is accompanied by the profound mastery of Paula Rodríguez Lázaro —who also takes on the artistic direction this week— and the undeniable grit of Claudia Cruz. Three masterful ways of understanding “arte jondo” that will leave you pinned to your seat.
A sound designed to give you goosebumps. The heartbreaking singing will be provided by Saul Quirós and José del Calli, backed by the speed and precision of the guitars of David Cerreduela and Ricardo Vázquez. Furthermore, until the 28th, the rhythm is enriched by the sax and flute of Jesús Montoya and the relentless percussion of Lucky Losada.
True flamenco needs the vibration of historical wood. Tickets usually disappear fast. Do not let others tell you about it.
