José Escarpín and his Guinness World Record at Tablao Flamenco 1911
The Guinness World Record of flamenco arrives at the oldest flamenco tablao in the world: Tablao Flamenco 1911.
This week, our flamenco ensemble renews itself to offer you an experience full of nuances and overflowing talent.
There are corners of Madrid where time is measured differently, and Tablao Flamenco 1911 is undoubtedly one of them. Entering here is not just attending a show; it is taking part in a ritual that has been repeated for over a century in Plaza de Santa Ana. For this week, from January 5 to 11, we have sought that “truth” that defines us so deeply, bringing together a lineup of artists who understand that on this stage you do not come to comply, but to surrender.
During these days, the echo of the century-old tiles will accompany the dance of José Escarpín, whose strength intertwines with the technical elegance of Paula Rodríguez Lázaro and the authentic edge of La Flaka. Together they form a triangle of styles that sums up the essence of our house: absolute respect for the roots and a presence that fills the room.
That same honesty carries over into the music. The guitars of David Cerreduela and Ricardo Vázquez will be responsible for opening the path for the voices. We will count on the soul of El Cancu throughout the entire week, sharing the stage with Roberto Llorente in the first days and with the depth of José del Calli from the 8th onward. In addition, until the 10th, the atmosphere will become almost mystical with the nuances of the saxophone and the flute of Jesús Montoya, a brushstroke of sensitivity that elevates the ritual to another level. All this machinery moves on the solid, wise compás of Lucky Losada and Antonio Losada, who share the percussion duties so that the heartbeat of Tablao Flamenco 1911 continues to sound for what it truly is: real flamenco.
We await you in the heart of history to live a week that, like everything that happens here, will be unrepeatable.
