Flamenco Madrid Daily Show
It is possible to purchase future tickets even if the artistic program for some months has not yet been published.
On the 8th of March, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we will have a special performance of the madrilenian singer Laura Abadía. A special show with which we will highlight the contributions and importance that women have had for flamenco. Specifically, Laura represents the Flamenco of Madrid; its neighbourhoods, its ways of living it and its contact with other artistic disciplines.
In this show you will be able to hear the authentic sound of the Caño Roto neighbourhood. Listen the powerful and virtuosic voice of this singer whose colour and tone transport us to the Afro-Gypsy subgenre.
“You free yourself with what you sing”- Laura Abadía
Laura Abadía Motos, born in the Madrid neighbourhood of Tetuán, belongs to a great saga of singers and guitarists who have been key to Madrid flamenco.
She has performed alongside the great flamenco dancers of recent decades, such as Antonio Canales, Sara Baras and Curro de la Candela, accompanying them on their numerous international tours. As a soloist he has been accompanied by guitarists such as José Jiménez “El Viejín” and José Suárez “Paquete”
From a very young age, Laura already stood out for her artistic talent, combining flamenco singing in family gatherings with a repertoire close to gospel, in church. She understands flamenco as a way of life and as a meeting point and celebration with her family.
In addition to being a great cantaora, Laura also stands out in Madrid Flamenco for her work as artistic director of Tablao 1911 and Cardamomo. Thanks to her extensive experience, she has the necessary knowledge to be able to create the best show every day. She directs, orders and selects casts from all over Spain as well as the staging of each number.
