The princess of Cádiz, Claudia Cruz

One of the great figures of flamenco, who envelops us in a dance full of strength and elegance.

Claudia Cruz, better known as “La Princesa de Cádiz” was born in Cádiz in 1986. At the age of 5 years old, she began her first flamenco classes and then at the age of 10 she began classes of Ballet and Classical Spanish at the Cibayi Dance Academy, directed by Charo Cruz.

She has trained with great flamenco artists such as Juana Amaya, Javier Latorre, Israel Galván, Rafaela Carrasco, Belén Maya, Alejandro Granados, Carmelilla Montoya and La Chana; contemporary dance with Mijita Dakota; ballet with Pacy Sánchez and Teresa Caudón; and classical Spanish with Fernando Galán and Silvia Oen.

Awards:

First Prize in the national competition of l’Hospitalet, Barcelona, in the category of Matilde Coral and José de la Vega award in 2006, First Prize in the national competition of Ubrique in 2006, First Prize in the dance by Alegrías in the national competition of the Peña de la Perla de Cádiz in 2005, and First Prize in the national competition of Estepona Cantora in 2005.

At present Claudia Cruz is one of the young values of flamenco dance on the rise. She combines her performances in national and international festivals and theaters with performances in the best tablaos in Spain.
