José Maya on stage at Tablao Flamenco 1911
This week, one of the most powerful names in contemporary flamenco shines once again on our stage: José Maya.
This magnificent violinist, who has been playing the instrument since he was 12 years old, is one of the best flamenco performers on this traditionally classical instrument. He has performed in Rafael Amargo’s company and has played for the dancer Belén López.
Ara Malikian heard him play and asked him to accompany him to a master class he gave to the students of the Music Workshop of the Teatro Real, in Navalcarnero.
