Estela Alonso

Estela Alonso, born in Madrid (1911), is a soloist dancer of the Ballet Nacional de España, of which she has been a member since 2015.

Since 2009 when she obtained her intermediate degree at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma until her incorporation to the BNE she has worked with various companies performing soloist roles such as Cía. Antonio Márquez, Cía. Daniel Doña, Rojas y Rodríguez, Emilio Ochando y Cía and Enclave Español.

In 2013 she won the Outstanding Dancer award at the Certamen de Danza Española y Flamenco de Madrid with “A mi manera”. Thanks to this choreography of her own creation she has had the opportunity to bring back the bolero school to different tablaos such as Tablao Villa Rosa, Tablao los Porches, Teatro Flamenco Sevilla and Corral de la Moreria. In the latter working with Jesus Carmona with the show “Camino”.

In 2021 she created the show “A mi manera 2.0” for her participation in the Gala Suma Flamenca Joven at the Teatros del Canal, with this show she has also participated in the Festival Circuito Bucles and in the awards ceremony of the Instituto Autor.

As a faithful defender and promoter of the bolero school, she has given numerous courses and masterclasses at national and international level in different conservatories and schools.
