Juan Carlos Avecilla

Juan Carlos was born in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1991. He obtained his degree in Spanish Dance and Flamenco at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Cádiz. Among his teachers are: Chiki de Jerez, Andrés Peña, Pilar Ogalla, Lidia Cabello, Isabel Pérez, Charo Cruz among others. In Madrid, she continued her training with Rocío Molina, Israel Galván, Elvira Andrés, Óscar Jiménez, Daniel Doña, Manuel Liñan, Rafaela Carrasco, Jesús Carmona, Aida Gómez, David Coria and José Maldonado.

He obtains her degree in the branch of choreography and interpretation at the Conservatorio Superior de danza María Ávila, in 2015. He has been part of companies such as: Antonio Márquez, Javier La Torre and Concha Jareño, Antonio ” El Pipa “, Carlos Vilán among others. He currently tours several tablaos in Madrid combining with his own dance company and is part of the cast of the Cía. María Pagés and Ángel Rojas.

He has performed in prestigious festivals such as the Festival de Jerez, Festival Internacional de Música, Bienal de Sevilla and Danza de Granada among others, both national and international.

  • Five nominations PAD Awards Andalusia 2018 “Tic Tac Toe”.
  • Semifinalist Festival Internacional Cante de las Minas 2019.
  • Three nominations Max Awards 2020, as Best New Show, Best New Author and Best Male Performer.
