Alfonso Losa

bailaor
The greatest exponent of flamenco virtuosity

From the age of six this dancer already possessed great motor skills. Alfonso Losa did all kinds of dance disciplines. His beginnings were in a dance school that taught several disciplines. From contemporary dance, ballet, flamenco to tap dance. At the age of 17 he joined Manuela Carrasco’s company where she discovered flamenco in a natural way. He learned in a special and unusual way, without rehearsals, going directly to the theatre to dance and show his potential.

Within his extensive artistic career we can highlight the following awards:

  • “El desplante” award, International contest of Las Minas 2008.
  • Soleá” award, National Competition of Cordoba 2007.
  • Best Dancer award, Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest (1996 and 2000).
  • Currently, “The critics’ award” of the Festival de Jerez 2022.

But, according to Alfonso, the most beautiful award is the prize of the profession, together with the affection and admiration of your colleagues.

For Alfonso it was impressive that a flamenco genius like “Farruquito” invited him to dance in his show. We can consider that his greatest references and career companions are the dancers José Maya and Nino de los Reyes, whom he has known since he was twelve years old, and who have taught him a great deal about life.
