María Reyes

bailaora

María C. Reyes was born in El Puerto de Santa Maria in 1991. When she was only four years old she started dancing in the academy of María Jesús Rosso. She finished her studies at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Cadiz with the prize for the best academic record in this specialty at the Andalusian level, at the same time she was trained by Miguel Angel Heredia in Jerez. She began to form part of the company of Spanish Dance and Flamenco Azalea with Mercedes Márquez and Javier Marín in 2011. Together with them she toured several places such as Seville, Huelva, Cadiz and Portugal. Then she joins Manolo Carrasco’s company sharing the stage with several artists such as María José Franco and Miguel Ángel Corbacho in the show “Vive la pepa, 1812”.

She begins her career as a solo dancer in the tablaos of Jerez and in 2012 she is selected by the province of Cadiz to participate in the Desencaja Jóvenes Flamencos contest, taking part as a dancer in the Circuito Provincial de Peñas de Andalucía. In 2014 she is awarded third place in dance in the National Competition of Ubrique.

In 2017, she travels to Madrid to be part of the piece “La Rosa de Gerineldo” by Guadalupe Torres, which won the first prize for choreography in the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Contest in Madrid. She currently combines her studies with her solo career in different tablaos in Madrid.
