Claudia Cruz, más conocida como “La Princesa de Cádiz”, representa la fuerza y la gracia de su ciudad natal.
Claudia Cruz, better known as “La Princesa de Cadiz” was born in Cadiz in 1986. At the age of 5 years old, she started her first flamenco classes and then at the age of 10 she began classes of Ballet and Classical Spanish at the Cibayi Dance Academy, directed by Charo Cruz.
She has trained with great flamenco artists such as Juana Amaya, Javier Latorre, Israel Galván, Rafaela Carrasco, Belén Maya, Alejandro Granados, Carmelilla Montoya and La Chana; contemporary dance with Mijita Dakota; ballet with Pacy Sánchez and Teresa Caudón; and classical Spanish with Fernando Galán and Silvia Oen.
In 2001 he made a special collaboration in the show of the Carnival Proclamation of Cadiz starring Sara Baras. Two years later, he also collaborated with the theater company “Los Ulen”, with the Monaco Ballet performing “Carmen de Bizet”.
In 2005 he toured Japan with the show Pasión Flamenca sharing the bill with Enrique El Extremeño, La Tobala, Pedro Sierra and La Moneta, that same year he launched the tour of Turismo Andaluz representing Andalusian flamenco in Europe.
In 2008 she was part of the Cadiz Company, directed by the Andalusian Agency for the development of flamenco, sharing the stage with artists such as El Junco, David Palomar, Rosario Toledo and Ana Salazar. She was the first dance figure in a show by Niña Pastori in Christmas 2010-2011, where she toured extensively as a guest artist.
From 2008 to 2012 she was part of Antonio El Pipa’s Company being his dance partner in tours around Europe and America and participating in numerous festivals such as the Festival de Jerez, Mont de Marsan, Parc de la Villete, etc,
In 2012 she was guest artist in the Carnival Proclamation of Cadiz La Pepa 2012 starring Niña Pastori and in May of the same year she was the guest artist of the master Rancapino in the show “Ayer y Hoy”. Then she premiered her show “Claudia Cruz” opening poster in the programming of the Bicentennial of the Cortes de Cádiz.
In 2013 she participated in the Festival de Jerez as a soloist in the show “Vivencias” with Antonio “El Pipa”, Tía Juana “del Pipa”, Concha Vargas and Carmen Ledesma and in the show “En la Raíz del Flamenco” premiered at the Lope de Vega in Seville along with great artists such as Dorantes, Farruquito, Remedios Amaya, Juan de Juan, Pastora Galván, etc. In March she participated in the Multicultural Festival “El Arte une las Generaciones” of Wroclaw in Poland and in September she starred as a soloist dancer in the show “Jeregueño” at the Bienal de Málaga.
In 2014 she participated as a guest artist in the First Cycle of “Tan solo baile” in Venta de Vargas, in the show “Ni el hambre la vamo a sentí” sponsored by the city council of Cadiz in the Municipal Center of Flamenco Art la Merced and in the III Flamenco Festival in Japan, alongside artists such as Mercedes Ruiz, Pastora Galván, La Moneta, Patricia Guerrero, Jairo Barrul, etc.

First Prize in the national contest of l’Hospitalet, Barcelona, in the category of Matilde Coral and José de la Vega in 2006, First Prize in the national contest of Ubrique in 2006, First Prize in the dance by Alegrías in the national contest of the Peña de la Perla de Cádiz in 2005, and First Prize in the national contest of Estepona Cantora in 2005.
At present Claudia Cruz is one of the young values of flamenco dance on the rise. She combines her performances in festivals and national and international theaters with performances in the best tablaos in Spain.
